If you’re running a coaching business that’s heavily reliant on social media and you’re totally feeling burnout from content creation, this post is for you.

I recently had a deep, honest conversation with a client who hit her breaking point.

She was so exhausted from content creation that even the thought of opening Instagram triggered stress.

She had built her business on organic social content, but the hustle had started to drain her mental health and joy.

If that’s where you’re at too, you’re not alone.

The pressure to constantly create, perform, and “stay relevant” online can suck the life out of even the most passionate entrepreneurs.

The good news? There’s another way.

In this post, I’m sharing the exact strategies I walked my client through to help her offload 95% of her content creation and reconnect with the parts of her business that actually light her up.

Let’s dive in.

Stop Forcing Content That’s Burning You Out

Let’s just get real for a second—if showing up on social media feels like a chore you dread, it’s not working.

My client said it best: “I don’t spend any time on Instagram anymore, because the thought of it stresses me out.” And that’s a red flag.

If you’re showing up on stories only when it feels like a checklist task… if creating content feels like filming B-roll and churning out captions with no soul… your audience can feel that energy.

And honestly? It’s probably not converting the way it used to.

You don’t need to throw out social media altogether. But if you’re totally burnt out, the way you’re doing it needs to change.

Instead of creating brand new content constantly, let’s restructure how you’re showing up so it’s sustainable—and maybe even enjoyable again!

Repurpose What You’ve Already Created (Yes, Even from Years Ago)

The truth is, if you’ve been in business for a while, you’re probably sitting on a goldmine of content.

So many of my clients have YEARS of valuable content—from emails, blog posts, courses, coaching calls, podcasts—you name it.

You do not need to reinvent the wheel every week.

What I recommend: have a team member (or even AI!) go into your content archive, pull from what’s already working, and repurpose it into posts, carousels, stories, or emails.

If your core message hasn’t changed, it’s still relevant.

And here’s a mindset shift for you: just because someone saw that post two years ago doesn’t mean they remember it now. If it worked then, it can work again.

You just need to freshen it up and get it back out there.

Don’t let the feeling of constantly needing new and novel content be what creates your burnout from social media content creation.

Let Your Team Own the Content Engine

Here’s the part where you truly get to let go of the grind.

In our coaching session, we talked through the idea of letting her team member fully own the social media content.

That means no more daily approvals, no micromanaging the formatting of a carousel, and no rewriting captions to sound more like you.

It’s about trusting your team to capture your voice using the content you’ve already created. Especially if you’ve trained them well or they’ve been with you for a while, they probably know your tone and brand better than you think.

If you’re using AI tools like ChatGPT, you can feed it your past content and ask it to recreate captions, carousels, or reels based on your voice and proven frameworks.

Let your team test, try, and have fun with the content again, while you reclaim your time and mental clarity.

Show Up on Social Only When It Feels Fun

Once you’ve offloaded the bulk of the content machine, you get to show up spontaneously. Just for fun. Just when it feels good.

Maybe that looks like hopping on stories to share a behind-the-scenes of your day, your lunch, or a thought you had during a client call. (And no, that doesn’t make you an influencer… it makes you real.)

As my client said, “Maybe with me doing less content creation, I’ll actually have the capacity mentally to come on stories.”

When you’re not buried in scheduling posts and writing captions, you can show up authentically. That energy is powerful and your audience will feel the difference.

Empower Your Team with AI (So You’re Not the Bottleneck)

If you’re constantly editing lab orders, reviewing practitioner protocols, or answering Slack messages all day, you’re probably the bottleneck in your business.

This was another massive area of stress for my client. She had 8+ team members all reporting to her. Even with good systems in place, she found herself in daily Slack marathons and endless approvals.

That’s not scalable.

So here’s what we talked through:

  • Create SOPs and checklists that cover every part of client delivery.

  • Train your team to think like you by documenting why you make certain decisions.

  • Use AI to replicate your thought process. You can train a chatbot to recommend lab tests or suggest protocols based on a client’s intake based on your expertise.

You don’t have to let go of quality. You just need to stop doing all of it yourself.

If you want your team to step up, you have to stop being the fallback for every decision.

Create a Collective Resource Pool (So You’re Not the Only Expert)

If you’re the only one creating resources for your team, like handouts, protocols, or client worksheets, that’s another huge time suck that can easily be delegated.

Here’s what I recommend: build a collective resource library.

Each practitioner contributes their own tools and templates. Everyone benefits. You stop being the only one with the answers. And your team grows together.

If someone asks for a handout on pregnancy-safe allergy support, let the practitioner create it. You can quickly review and approve it, then add it to the shared library.

Not only does this lighten your load, it actually empowers your team and makes them feel more invested in the practice.

If It’s Not Working for You, It’s Not Working—Period

This is the heart of it all.

If your current business model requires you to suffer to keep it running, that’s not a sustainable business. That’s a burnout recipe.

We build these businesses for freedom, impact, and joy… not to feel trapped by our own success.

And sometimes, it’s just time for an experiment.

So, if you’re feeling burnout from social media content creation, try something different for 60-90 days:

  • Let your team handle content.

  • Show up only when it feels aligned.

  • Empower your practitioners to take more ownership.

  • Delegate decision-making.

  • Use AI to replicate your thinking.

Worst-case scenario? You go back to what you were doing before.

Best-case scenario? You get your time, energy, and creativity back, and your business still grows.

You Can Overcome Burnout From Social Media Content Creation

You don’t have to choose between growth and burnout.

You don’t have to stay stuck in a strategy that no longer serves you—just because it worked before.

If content creation is draining you, give yourself permission to pause. Repurpose. Delegate. Rebuild.

Because when you protect your energy, you create space for what really matters—your clients, your team, your family, and yourself.

You deserve that.
