When I first started working with functional dietitian Jillian Greaves, she was making six figures in her private practice.

On paper, everything looked like a success.

But behind the scenes, she was stuck on a hamster wheel: packed client days, admin work on weekends, and a lifestyle that felt chaotic and misaligned with the impact she truly wanted to have.

Fast forward just a few years, and Jillian’s business (and life) look nothing like they did before.

She’s built a team, scaled her services, increased her revenue by over 3x, and was able to experience a stress-free maternity leave.

So how did she do it?

The Hidden Burnout Behind a “Successful” Practice

Jillian came to me in early 2020 with a full-time insurance-based practice.

She was seeing clients five days a week, sometimes as early as 7 a.m. and as late as 7 p.m.—and doing all her admin work on the weekends.

Her schedule was packed, but it wasn’t sustainable.

She described feeling “stuck” in a model that didn’t align with how she truly wanted to help women.

She loved the work, but the stress was weighing her down.

Even her supportive partner was pointing out the toll it was taking on her health.

Like many purpose-driven practitioners, Jillian was caught in the trap of over-delivering, over-accommodating, and fearing that setting boundaries might harm her business.

But deep down, she knew she couldn’t keep going like that—especially with motherhood on the horizon.

Step One: Create an Aligned Signature Offer

The first big shift we made was helping Jillian build a high-value, private-pay 1:1 offer that reflected her true expertise and the actual transformation her clients were looking for.

Instead of selling one-off sessions and billing insurance, we designed a structured program that incorporated everything Jillian knew her clients needed to get results.

That shift alone was game-changing. It allowed her to raise her rates, leave insurance behind, and finally work with fewer clients in a deeper, more impactful way.

It also gave her the confidence to charge appropriately for her services without guilt.


Step Two: Systematize Everything

Jillian had been doing everything manually: scheduling clients, onboarding, ordering labs, collecting forms.

You name it, she was doing it herself.

Together, we:

  • Automated scheduling and intake processes

  • Streamlined lab testing and symptom tracking

  • Implemented workflows for onboarding and offboarding clients

  • Switched her EMR platform to something more efficient

These systems didn’t just save her time, they made her client experience more professional and polished.

Clients were getting better outcomes with less friction.

And Jillian finally had space to breathe.


Step Three: Outsource and Step Into Leadership

Hiring her first assistant was a huge milestone and a mindset stretch. But it was also the beginning of Jillian stepping into her role as a leader in her business, not just the sole service provider.

By trusting herself to lead and others to support, she freed up even more time and mental energy—and laid the groundwork for future growth.

Step Four: Scaling With Group Programs

Once her 1:1 offer was solid, Jillian was ready to scale her impact with a group program.

She launched a 12-week PCOS group program that offered amazing value while being more accessible in terms of price.

This program wasn’t just a lower-cost version of her private coaching. It was carefully designed to deliver transformation on its ow, complete with optional lab testing, personalized protocols, live calls, and community support.

Not only did women love it, but they got incredible results… often better than what Jillian used to see in a traditional 1:1 model.


Step Five: Add an Entry-Level Offer to Warm Up Leads

To create an on-ramp into her ecosystem, Jillian launched a mini course on PCOS nutrition.

This “small bite” offer was priced accessibly but packed with value.

It quickly became a key part of her funnel, bringing in $3K–$5K per month in consistent, mostly passive income, and helping more women get results while building trust with Jillian’s brand.

For anyone wondering if a $97 course can make a difference? Jillian’s brought in over $15K in the first couple months just from launching it to a waitlist.

It’s now a steady income stream that covers business expenses (or even a team member’s salary).


‍‍ Step Six: Build a Team and Work ON the Business

In the last couple of years, Jillian hired two full-time dietitians and brought her husband into the business as operations lead.

This next level of growth required a new mindset shift: from being in the business to working on the business.

She embraced the role of CEO and practitioner mentor—something she never thought she’d enjoy, but now finds deeply fulfilling.

Today, Jillian only sees clients 1.5 days per week, and the rest of her time is devoted to content creation, team leadership, and strategic growth.

Fridays? Often spent on the beach.


The Results: Doubling (and Then Tripling) Revenue While Working Less

Within a year of making these changes, Jillian’s revenue jumped from ~$100K to over $325K.

And this wasn’t a fluke or a one-time spike. It was a sustainable shift driven by better systems, clearer offers, and smarter business design.

Her clients? They were thriving too—getting better, faster results with a more supportive and structured experience.

Her life? She finally had weekends off, admin days built into her calendar, and a schedule that respected her energy.


Preparing for Maternity Leave Without Panic

One of the most exciting milestones Jillian’s reached is the ability to take a real maternity leave with zero panic.

Her team is running operations, her offers are running smoothly, and she has the systems in place to step away without the business grinding to a halt.

This is the kind of freedom and sustainability that most coaches dream of, and Jillian has created it by building intentionally, investing wisely, and continuing to grow as a leader.

5. You Don’t Have to Do It Alone

Hiring—even just a VA—can be the catalyst that changes everything. You don’t have to be the admin, coach, marketer, and CEO all at once.

6. Bet on Yourself

The biggest shift? Jillian decided to invest in support, even when it felt scary. That decision changed everything.
