If you’re an online health coach or wellness practitioner, you’ve probably heard about sales funnels, but maybe you’re still not totally clear on what they are, how they work, or if you even need one.

Here’s the truth: without a sales funnel, you’re relying on luck, hustle, and endless DMs to land clients.

That might work in the beginning, but it’s not scalable, sustainable, or smart for your time.

The good news? You don’t need a complicated, tech-heavy setup to start converting leads into clients.

You just need a simple sales funnel for your online health business that works for you behind the scenes, bringing in qualified leads and guiding them to a clear “yes” with ease.

A sales funnel is just a fancy way of describing the journey someone takes from finding you to hiring you.

Here’s what a simple sales funnel looks like for an online health business:

  2. They opt in for something valuable, like a free training or resource.
  3. They watch or read it, and start to trust your expertise.
  4. They apply or book a call to learn more about your program.
  5. You close the sale.

That’s it. No aggressive sales tactics. No chasing leads.

Just a thoughtful, intentional system that nurtures people into becoming your next dream clients.


Step 1: Design a Clear Opt-In Page

Your funnel starts with a strong opt-in. This is where someone raises their hand and says, “I’m interested, tell me more!”

Instead of asking people to “DM me for info,” create a landing page that offers a high-value, free resource, like a mini training video, quiz, or checklist, that speaks directly to your ideal client’s pain point.

What makes a great opt-in page?

  • Clear headline: “Free Training for Busy Professionals Who Want to Lose Fat Without Extreme Dieting”
  • Tangible outcome: Focus on what they want, not vague benefits.
  • Call-to-action: “Enter your name and email to access the training instantly.”

Pro Tip: Capture that email. Always.


Step 2: Create a Pre-Selling Training Video

This is the heart of your sales funnel.

A 20–30 minute training video builds authority, educates your audience, and shows them exactly how you help clients get results.

It should cover:

  • Who it’s for
  • Common mistakes they’re making
  • Your unique method or framework
  • Client success stories
  • A call to apply or book a call with you

Think of this video as a 1-to-many discovery call that runs on autopilot.

And the best part? You never have to waste time explaining your method or pricing in the DMs again.

Pro tip: Record it like you’re talking to one dream client, because authentic and unscripted sells better than scripted and robotic.


Step 3: Build a Qualifying Application Form

Once someone watches your training and wants to take the next step, send them to an application page that qualifies them.

This is where you filter out tire-kickers and focus on serious prospects.

  • Optional: pricing range, so they’re not surprised later

Pro Tip: Keep the form short and easy to fill out to avoid unnecessary friction.


Step 4: Set Up Automated Follow-Ups and Booking Links

Depending on your platform (Kajabi, Typeform, ManyChat, etc.), you can automate follow-ups after the application:

  • Redirect them to a calendar to book a call immediately.
  • Send a follow-up email with more info or next steps.
  • Trigger DMs (using ManyChat or IG automations) to guide them.

This is where you reduce drop-off between “applied” and “booked call.”

You’re meeting them while they’re still excited and engaged.

If you don’t want to automate yet, that’s okay. Just make sure you’re reviewing apps quickly and following up manually within 24–48 hours.


Step 5: Use Your Content to Fill the Funnel

Now that your funnel is live, your content’s job is to drive people to it.

Yes, your Reels and carousels can still provide value—but always give them a next step.

“Comment INFO,” “DM ME ‘START’,” or “Click the link in my bio to watch my free training.”

If you’re feeling bored with your messaging, it’s probably working. Repetition is what creates trust.

Here are ways to keep content fresh without changing your message:

  • Repurpose carousels into short videos or reels.
  • Add visuals like client photos or reviews.
  • Share stories or behind-the-scenes that illustrate your method in action.

Don’t reinvent the wheel. Just show up consistently and point to your sales funnel.


Step 6: Upgrade Over Time, But Start Simple

You don’t need a 15-part email sequence or advanced segmentation to get started.

In fact, the simpler the sales funnel, the easier it is to test, tweak, and grow.

Start with:

  • One opt-in page
  • One training video
  • One application form
  • One call-to-action

Then once it’s converting, you can add more:

  • Retargeting ads
  • DM automation
  • Email nurtures
  • Upsells or tripwires

Build the plane as you fly it… don’t wait until it’s perfect to launch.

Here are some bonus tips I share with all my private clients:

  • Make your message specific. “Health coaching” is vague. “Hormone balance for busy working moms” is crystal clear.
  • Use testimonials strategically. Sprinkle them throughout your pages: before-and-afters, screenshots, short quotes.
  • Guide people, don’t convince them. Your video should create desire and clarity, not pressure.
  • Test your funnel like a user. Opt in yourself. Watch the video. Go through the application. Fix any confusion or friction.
