When Life Forces You to Rethink Your Business Model

If you’re anything like me, you started your online coaching business because you wanted freedom…

Freedom to help people on your own terms, freedom to create a life you love, and freedom from burnout, overwhelm, and being tied to a 9-to-5.

But what happens when the business you built to create freedom starts to feel like the very thing that’s draining you?

In 2021, before I had kids, I was running three different coaching offers:

  • My Nourished Business Accelerator (NBA) signature program
  • A high-level mastermind that included live events
  • An advanced success coaching program for NBA alumni

I loved the variety. I loved working with both new and seasoned health business owners.

And I loved helping my clients scale to their first few high-ticket sales and supporting others as they grew to multi-six-figure levels.

But as I transitioned into motherhood, everything changed.

In 2022, when my first daughter was born, I made the decision to shut down my mastermind temporarily.

It was a tough call—this was a multi-six-figure offer that had been a big part of my business. But I knew I couldn’t keep up the same pace.

Then in 2023, pregnant with my second daughter, I hit a wall.

I was still running two group programs, still carrying the mental and emotional weight of everything in the business. Because let’s be real—as much as I have an amazing team support, a lot still falls on my shoulders. All that while, I was still trying to be present for my family.

Something had to give.

So I made the scary decision to let go of my higher-level program. I focused exclusively on the NBA which has always been signature program as a business coach.

Was it a short-term revenue hit? Absolutely.

Was it the right decision? Without a doubt.

I share this because I know many of you are in a similar place right now.

Maybe you’re a mom. Maybe you’re caring for aging parents. Or maybe you’re simply tired of feeling like your business is running you into the ground.

And here’s what I’ve learned the hard way: if your business model isn’t sustainable, nothing else matters.


Why I Chose to Double Down on My Signature Program

At the time, I was faced with a tough choice:

✅ Keep juggling two offers, two sales systems, two marketing funnels, and risk burnout (or worse)…
✅ Or simplify and double down on the program that was not only getting great client results but also the most scalable and systematized: The Nourished Business Accelerator.

I chose simplicity. I chose my core signature program.

And honestly? It’s the best decision I could have made—not just for my family and my health, but for my clients too.

1. A Scalable Video Sales Funnel

For years, I’ve used a video sales funnel to bring in new leads, warm them up, and convert them into high-ticket clients without me having to be “on” 24/7.

And let me tell you: this system has been a lifesaver. Especially during pregnancy, postpartum, and raising two little ones without full-time childcare.

A well-crafted video sales funnel does the heavy lifting for you by:

✅ Attracting your dream clients
✅ Demonstrating your unique expertise
✅ Pre-selling your offer before you ever get on a call (or before they buy directly)
✅ Bringing in applications or purchases on autopilot

The key?
Stop over-teaching.
Focus on showing people how their problem can be solved—without overwhelming them with too much information.
