I’ve been thinking a lot about where women find their identity, and I can tell you a few things I know for sure…
Your diet is not your identity.
Your weight is not your identity.
Your fitness is not your identity.
Your health is not your identity.
Your marital status is not your identity.
Your job is not your identity.
Your bank statement is not your identity.
Your fertility is not your identity.
Your children are not your identity.
Your productivity is not your identity.
Your educational degree is not your identity.
Your body fat percentage is not your identity.
Your jean size is not your identity.
Your impact is not your identity.
What IS Your Identity?
So… what IS your identity then, if it’s not all those things you’ve been hustling after for so long?
You are a child of God.
You are chosen.
You are forgiven.
You are redeemed.
You are accepted.
You are worthy.
You are enough.
You are a new creation.
You are free.
You are a light.
You are here for a reason.
You are loved.
I AM WHO YOU SAY I AM
I love the lyrics of the song “Who You Say I Am” by Hillsong Worship. Watch the video above if you’ve never heard it before.
And I suggest you listen to this song if you’re questioning any of these truths about your identity.
Spend some time reading the Word to find out more about who God says you are. You might be surprised to find out how highly He thinks of you!
And knowing how much God loves you is the first step to living a life of freedom.
Share this post with a friend who needs to know this about herself (or himself).
And let’s be honest, we all need this reminder sometimes!
