Today we are interviewing Dr. Kate, one of the world’s foremost experts on a little known vitamin that is essential for good health and longevity, as well as avoiding chronic disease: Vitamin K2.

She is the author of the book Vitamin K2 and the Calcium Paradox: How a Little Known Vitamin Could Save Your Life.

Dr. Kate is an incredibly knowledgable expert on vitamin K2 and it was a pleasure to have the opportunity to interview her on this fascinating topic!

  1. I really enjoyed this episode. After listening, I feel that I should supplement with K2 also, especially since my doctor has me on D3 already, with no K2 supplement. Even my multivitamin only has K1. Do you have a link or a particular supplement you suggest? I went to Dr. Kate’s website and saw she didn’t have any links to a recommended product either. Looking on Amazon and other sites, it’s confusing. Thanks!

  3. Thank you for this interesting podcast, and for all your podcasts.
    My question is on High Vitamin Butter Oil. I’ve been taking it for years now and giving it to my children as well as I thought it provided a fair amount of Vitamin K2, which works synergistically with Vitamins A & D of the Cod Liver Oil.
    But HVBO is not mentioned in your podcast, so I wonder if the Vitamin K2 claim is not valid.
    Would I be better off buying a supplement and taking this with my daily dose of CLO?
    HVBO is really expensive here in Europe!

    1. Hi Evi, you would probably be fine taking a K2 supplement and using high quality grass fed butter in your cooking. There should be K2 in the HVBO but the amount will vary substantially.

    I finally was able to listen to this podcast about vitamin k2. It was very informative. Thank you so much for sharing it. My question is did I hear correctly that Dr. Kate said we do not need to supplement with calcium at all? I have been vitamin d deficient in the past and have finally been at a stable level by supplementing and getting out in the sun more. I also was told though that I absolutely should supplement with a bone meal calcium and k2 since I am also supplementing with vitamin d3 ? Please let me know your thoughts when you have time. Thank you for another great podcast.
